HE IMPORTANCE OF UPDATING THE TEACHING OF FUNDAMENTAL DISCIPLINES IN HIGHER EDUCATION

The relevance of this article is due to the rapid introduction of digital technologies in all spheres of life of Russian society. Higher education should take into account all modern trends, be relevant to the development of science and technology. Education as an important factor of sustainable development of society, actively perceives all innovations. The article considers the experience of teaching fundamental discipline «Higher mathematics» in modern conditions, taking into account the challenges of society and requirements, which are presented to future specialists in accordance with the university’s development program at the Department of Higher Mathematics of the Kazan National Research Technological University. The goals of development of discipline «Higher mathematics» have been defined, which for most working programs of branches and specialties of the University of Technology coincide. They include: the acquisition and consolidation of systemic mathematical knowledge, the acquisition of a specific knowledge reserve and the mastery of certain skills; the assimilation of concepts necessary for the interrelation with concepts of other sciences; Ability to solve problems with application focus; need for further self-education, creative search, development of skills necessary for the use of mathematical modeling method.
