More Extensive Population Adopting E-Banking Services

Much like retail banks across the globe, banks in India are investing heavily in e-banking services, hoping this will lead to better returns and increased market penetration. However, the speed at which customers are embracing these new technologies remains up for debate. For any strategy aimed at gaining widespread consumer acceptance and use of e-banking to succeed, a deep understanding of the factors influencing customer adoption is crucial. This study builds on existing research about perceived usefulness, ease of use, consumer awareness of e-banking services, and self-perception to provide a clearer picture of what drives the adoption of internet banking in South Africa. To gather data, 100 customers from the four major retail banks in India were surveyed using self-administered questionnaires as part of a cross-sectional, descriptive sampling approach. The findings confirm that these factors play a significant role in the uptake and continued use of online banking services.
