Bromodifluoromethyl Phenoxathiinium Salt: A Practical and Competent Reagent Enabling Visible-Light-Promoted Bromodifluoromethylation of C(sp3)–H and Alkenes
A novel bromodifluoromethyl phenoxathiinium salt (BrF2C-PXT+) is reported as an exceptionally reactive and versatile bromodifluoromethylating reagent, demonstrating unprecedented photoredox-catalyzed C(sp3)-H bromodifluoromethylation and EDA-mediated hydrobromodifluoromethylation of alkenes under mild visible-light irradiation with high efficiency, a broad substrate scope, and good functional group tolerance. Furthermore, the late-stage bromodifluoromethylative modification of a series of bioactive compounds was also explored. This innovative BrF2C-PXT+ is a promising platform reagent for creating a variety of valuable bromodifluoromethylated architectures.
