The Impact of Digital Economy on Tourism in the Three Northeastern Provinces of China
Based on an empirical analysis of data from 15 tourist cities in the three northeastern provinces of China from 2003 to 2022, this study finds that: (1) There is a nonlinear U-shaped relationship between the digital economy and tourism revenue in the region. This conclusion remains robust after both robustness and endogeneity tests. (2) Heterogeneity tests reveal that the digital economy exerts a more significant impact on local tourism revenue in Heilongjiang Province, regions with higher levels of digital economy development, and regions with higher per capita GDP.
