A Study of the Effect of Investor Age on Investment Behavior
Investigating the investment behavior of individual investors and its influencing factors holds significant theoretical and practical value in the field of finance. Based on data from the 2024 Chinese Investor Online Survey, this paper examines the basic characteristics and investment behaviors of individual investors and empirically analyzes the key determinants of investment behavior using a regression model. The findings reveal that, first, investment behavior is influenced by individual characteristics, with investor age playing a significant role. Second, investor age has the strongest positive effect on investment experience, a moderate effect on the ratio of investment amount to disposable income, and the weakest effect on risk tolerance. This study provides micro-level evidence for understanding investor behavior and offers insights for financial product design, investor education, and policy development.
