Mid-Fidelity Aerodynamic Analysis and Design of a Fixed-Wing eVTOL for the Martian Atmosphere
A mid-fidelity aerodynamic model based on the Vortex Particle Method is used for the preliminary design of a fixed-wing eVTOL operating in the Martian atmosphere. This work focuses on the design of specific tilting and fixed rotors, as well as the evaluation of drone performance during hover, transition, and cruise phases, including a detailed examination of the aerodynamic loads. When optimized for the Martian environment, fixed-wing configurations can be successfully utilized in future Mars missions.
