Utilizing Microgravity To Create Better Seed Crystals for the Pharmaceutical Industry
To enable a thriving Low Earth Orbit (LEO) economy, there is a push to do more research leading to manufacturing in LEO with fewer and fewer flights. The Pharmaceutical In-space Laboratory (PIL) aims to do just that – provide more opportunities with fewer flights for both research and manufacturing of crystalline material. The PIL suite of hardware aims to make crystallization research and manufacturing not only easier, but also faster and simpler than ever before. The PIL suite of hardware enables the creation of seed crystals in microgravity that can fit seamlessly into a terrestrial manufacturing process.
