Electric Engine for Spacetravel with Hover Capabilities
An engine moves by reaction against charged clouds of atomic ions and electrons. It moves an internal electric field down the length of the engine, operating like an Archimedean propellor but with electrically-attracted molecular ions. The fast repetition rate of the dipole electrical pulses increases the thrust to interact with a potential relativistic mass increase. It is calculated to produce high thrust and to provide capabilities for high-speed flight, planetary hover, and local solar-system operation. The system will generally be referred to as an electric engine, and is calculated to produce 29.6 zettanewtons of thrust in a theoretical maximum.
