CHAMPS’ Contributions to the Eight Drag Prediction Workshop Buffet Working Group
This paper presents Polytechnique Montréal’s contribution to the Eighth AIAA CFD Drag Prediction Workshop, using the in-house flow solver CHAMPS (CHApel Multi-Physics Simulation). The study focuses on the first two available test cases of the workshop: RANS and URANS simulations of the ONERA OAT15A transonic airfoil. For the steady case, efficient and robust iterative convergence is achieved through the systematic use of the Selective Frequency Damping method. For the unsteady simulation, warm starts from fully converged solutions are performed. All simulations are using the committee-provided Cadence unstructured grids for the discrete spatial domain.
