WITHDRAWN: Proposed Infrastructure for the Production and Supply of Aircraft with Green Hydrogen: A Case Study

The aviation sector faces growing scrutiny due to its significant contribution to CO2 emissions and its impact on climate change. This study evaluates the technical and economic feasibility of implementing a green hydrogen supply infrastructure at Uberlândia Airport, Minas Gerais, Brazil, aiming to support the transition toward cleaner aviation fuel alternatives. The proposed system integrates hydrogen production through water electrolysis powered by an on-grid photovoltaic plant within the airport’s infrastructure. Key analyses include the daily fuel demand, aircraft requirements, and regulatory considerations. The study identifies optimal locations for the photovoltaic plant, hydrogen production facilities, and supply lines, proposing a comprehensive framework for sustainable airport operations. Results demonstrate the potential of green hydrogen to meet aviation demands while significantly reducing carbon emissions. This work contributes to advancing the decarbonization of aviation by addressing key technical, logistical, and economic challenges associated with hydrogen adoption.
