On Flutter and Limit Cycle Oscillation Envelope of the Pazy Wing Using a Reduced Order Model
Reduced order models of a dynamically nonlinear aeroelastic wing system are created using source–transformation automatic differentiation for the prediction of limit cycle oscillations. Reduced order models consisting of just four complex degrees of freedom are demonstrated to successfully capture supercritical LCO amplitude and frequency of a full order model consisting of hundreds of degrees of freedom. The reduced order model computes dynamic responses orders of magnitude faster than the full order model.
