On the distribution of normal reactions between the axes of a balancing bogie during vehicle braking

The methodology for determining the vertical load on the axles of a bogie in a multi-axle vehicle, depending on its design, has been considered. The research results take into account the experience of designing multi-axle vehicles with bogies. The analysis of the obtained research results has shown that it is not advisable to use only one method for different types of vehicle bogies, as it is necessary to consider the specifics of weight redistribution between the axles of the bogie depending on its design.During the conducted research, it was established that the proposed methods are valid and reflect the physical essence of changes in vertical load on the bogie axles depending on the action of longitudinal forces between the vehicle tires and the road surface. The research shows that the accuracy of calculating the vertical load on the respective bogie axles of a vehicle affects the characteristics of the adhesion utilized curves. The proposed methods and approaches in the study make it possible to determine the adhesion utilized curves for a vehicle with any bogie design features. The developed methodologies can be applied to a wide range of transport vehicles, including heavy-duty trucks, specialized machinery, and military transport. The proposed methods will help improve the dynamic properties of designed vehicles, optimize the distribution of braking forces between their axles, and enhance overall vehicle stability and safety during operation.
