UMA ANÁLISE DA GOVERNANÇA PORTUÁRIA NOS TERMINAIS DE USO PRIVADO A PARTIR DE SEUS RELATÓRIOS DE SUSTENTABILIDADE

Agenda 2030, an effort by the United Nations (UN), is a global agreement to overcome the boundaries of all countries in the search for a better balance in social, economic and environmental development. The maritime transport sector could not be left out of this universal effort. In this context, the Brazilian port sector plays an essential role in the economy and society, as part of a global logistics chain. This study investigates the port governance practiced by companies that manage Private Use Terminals (TUPs) specializing in iron ore, identifying the governance practices in place at port facilities. This research uses the content analysis technique to analyze the Sustainability and Integrated Reports of the port facilities, from 2019 to 2021. The results point to the existence of good corporate governance practices as an organizational strategy adopted by all the companies analyzed. Finally, it can be concluded that the corporate governance developed by the companies analyzed contributes to their operational performance, since it integrates an organizational system recognized by its actors as necessary and urgent for the sustainability of the business.
