Broadcasting Palestine as a Worldwide Solidarity Movement

Broadcasting and reverberating across numerous time zones and corners of the world, 24hrs/Palestine is an internationalist and multilingual radio program that brings together a chorus of voices united in their solidarity with the Palestinian people. Over the course of twenty-four hours, gatherings took place both in physical spaces and on the airwaves, aiming to amplify local perspectives on the necessities and possibilities of anti-colonial solidarity across the world. Listeners could tune in via Radio AlHara and numerous partner radio stations to hear from collectives and networks whose work speaks to the nature and trajectory of local struggles as existing alongside the struggle of the Palestinian people. This platform is largely self-managed: each network/collective is free to broadcast its content in the time slot allocated, and the connections they establish are built on and further enriched by those of the platform's participants. The authors give particular attention to the “blind spots” in collective histories that have been identified in relation to Palestine, and the forging of links with the histories of colonized and oppressed peoples in the so-called global South.
