Performance Analysis of IUPQC and DPFC devices in a Distributed Generation Unit employing Intelligent Controllers
Optimization techniques have a long history, with foundational contributions from mathematicians such as Newton, Lagrange, and Cauchy. The development of differential calculus by Newton and Leibnitz played a crucial role in advancing optimization methods. With the introduction of high-speed digital computers, the application of optimization algorithms became more practical, driving the development of new and innovative approaches. In recent years, mathematical programming techniques such as Simulated Annealing, genetic algorithms, and other evolutionary methods have gained considerable attention. This research focuses on addressing power quality challenges, including voltage sag, swell, and harmonic distortions, using IUPQC and DPFC systems. These systems are integrated with intelligent control strategies, including Fuzzy Logic Controllers and Genetic Algorithmbased Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) controllers. A comprehensive harmonic analysis is also conducted for each control method to evaluate their effectiveness.
