Care Alerts: A health-sharing application
Care Alerts is a mobile application designed to help users share their health data and location with family and friends. Primarily targeting individuals away from their families, such as college students and elderly people living alone, the app provides real-time health monitoring, location tracking, and notifications. Through the integration of fitness data and Location-Based Services (LBS), the app offers a non-intrusive way to stay connected and informed. A prototype was created using Proto.io, evaluated through the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ). With the participation of 20 respondents, the study showed positive potential for the app, particularly in areas such as Attractiveness, Perspicuity, Efficiency, and Stimulation. However, the results indicated a need for improvement in Dependability. Despite these areas for enhancement, Care Alerts demonstrates promise in facilitating inclusive health check-ins for families, promoting safety and well-being through real-time health and location monitoring.
