Experimental Realization of Digital Voltage Mode Closed-loop Control of Forward Converter targeting for Single and Multi-Output Applications
This paper presents the hardware implementation of digitally controlled Single-Input Single-Output (SISO) and Single-Input Multi-Output (SIMO) forward converters using voltage mode control. A Digital Signal Processor (DSP) generates PWM signals and implements a closed-loop PI controller, discretized using the Euler backward method for real-time operation. Real-time voltage feedback is processed via an ADC, enabling dynamic duty cycle adjustment for stable output regulation under varying input and load conditions. Experimental results validate the design, with the SISO and SIMO converters achieving precise voltage regulation and multiple output generation, respectively. The proposed system offers a robust solution for power conversion applications in industrial and consumer electronics.
