Research and design of a high performance analogue-to-digital converter
With the growing demand for high-precision broadband signal processing across various fields, improving the performance of analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) has become a key research focus. This paper addresses the design requirements of high-speed, high-precision ADCs by proposing a high-performance ADC system architecture based on a seven-stage pipeline structure. Through MATLAB behavioral modeling and the design of key modules such as digital FIR filters, quantizers, residual amplifiers, and delay modules, the system performance is optimized. Oversampling techniques and bootstrapped switch designs are employed to further enhance conversion speed, accuracy, and linearity. Simulation results show that the ADC achieves an effective number of bits (ENOB) of 14.124 bit and a signal-to-noise-and-distortion ratio (SNDR) of 86.7863 dB at a sampling frequency of 10 GHz, demonstrating high dynamic range and resolution. This research provides theoretical foundations and design references for the localization of high-performance ADCs, offering significant engineering application value.
