VOSviewer and CiteSpace-based visualisation and analysis: a study on knowledge graph construction and trends of generative AI in the image design domain

With the rapid development of artificial intelligence technology, the application and research of generative AI in image design have increasingly received extensive attention from the academic community. This study adopts a bibliometric approach, with the help of two scientific knowledge mapping tools, VOSviewer and CiteSpace, to carry out a comprehensive visual analysis and trend study using the relevant literature on generative AI in image design in the Web of Science database between 2015 and 2025 as the data source. The study includes annual publication trend analysis, analysis of high-yield authors and institutions, analysis of core journal distribution and national and regional cooperation, analysis of keyword contribution, keyword clustering analysis, analysis of keyword timeline evolution, and analysis of keyword emergence and other dimensions, aiming to reveal the research hotspots, cutting-edge trends, and future development direction of this field in recent years.
