Research on the internal air chamber of the blood pressure simulator calibration device

The determination of the internal air chamber volume range of the blood pressure simulator calibration device is of significant importance for the in-depth exploration of the device’s integration and automation. This study focuses on five mainstream devices available on the market that feature non-invasive blood pressure simulation functionality. A blood pressure value of 150/100 (117) mmHg is selected as the study reference. Different volumes of air chambers are designed, and the variation of pulse wave amplitude is observed. The research results indicate that, in order to ensure the integrity of the calibration device’s function and cover a broader range of simulators that can be calibrated, the reasonable volume range of the internal air chamber of the blood pressure simulator calibration device should be between 30 mL and 50 mL. This study provides a scientific basis to ensure the reliability of the blood pressure simulator calibration device’s function, and also offers strong support for further improving the accuracy of blood pressure simulators and sphygmomanometers, as well as enhancing the measurement traceability system for blood pressure.
