METHOD OF ENGINEERING CALCULATION OF STRESSES OF BARREL-SHAPED TOOTH OF INVOLUTE GEARING
The article shows the relevance of using barrel-shaped teeth for involute gears. It has been proved that the degree of barrel shape of the tooth should be optimal, taking into account both the compensation of technological errors and the need to ensure the required load-bearing capacity of the gearing. However, the literature recommendations do not always meet this condition, which sometimes leads to premature contact destruction of barrel-shaped teeth. The article presents the developed formulas and tables for the engineering calculation of criterial flexural and effective contact stresses of barrel-shaped teeth of involute gears. It their based on the results of solving the contact task 3D using the developed finite element software package in the ANSYS system. The formulas are reduced to a form that allows the obtained stresses to be compared with the permissible stresses for the linear contact and to determine the load-bearing capacity of the gear train. Numerical examples of the use of the developed formulas are given.
