NEW DETAILS CONCERNING THE ACADEMIC BIOGRAPHY OF VALERIA IGOREVNA EREMINA
The article is devoted to the academic biography of Valeria Igorevna Eremina (1938–2023), a Doctor of Philology, who was a famous academician, textologist, and specialist in poetics, stylistics and the history of folklore studies. The article considers some of V. I. Eremina’s works on the poetics of folklore. It also includes the publication of previously unknown documents and records of discussions of her article Repetition as the Basis for Constructing a Lyric Song (1972) and of her first monograph The Poetic Structure of Russian Folk Lyrics (1978). These discussions took place at the Sector of Folk Poetry of the Institute of Russian Literature (Pushkinskii Dom) of the Russian Academy of Sciences. V. I. Eremina continued the traditions laid down in the works of the academician Alexander Nikolayevich Veselovsky. For this reason, the reception of Veselovsky and the complex place of his posthumous scientific biography in twentieth-century Russian science are also considered in this article. V. I. Eremina’s PhD dissertation and her works on the poetics of folklore represented important contributions to the rehabilitation of this disgraced academician and helped facilitate the renewed acceptance of his academic ideas.
