Carbon-supported Ni nanoparticles in CO 2 methanation: role of a superficial NiO shell observed by <i>in situ</i> TEM
In situ TEM uncovers dynamic Ni@NiO core–shell nanostructures emerging on Ni/AC during CO 2 methanation. The NiO shell activates CO 2 while the Ni 0 core splits H 2 , coupling intermediates to deliver a high CH 4 yield.
