A Preliminary Study on the Internet Neologism “TA”

本文聚焦现代汉语第三人称代词的历时演变，以网络新词“TA”为研究对象，深入剖析其语言学特征与社会文化动因。从语言学、社会学等多维度深入探讨“TA”作为性别中立代词的功能优势及其在当代语言系统中的矛盾冲突。分析“TA”的语义模糊性及其对自然语言处理带来的挑战，揭示数字时代语言变异与社会意识形态的互动关系，并进一步探讨“TA”在社会应用中的潜在影响与发展趋势。This paper focuses on the diachronic evolution of third-person pronouns in modern Chinese, taking the internet neologism “TA” as the research object, and conducts an in-depth analysis of its linguistic features and social-cultural motivations. It explores the functional advantages of “TA” as a gender-neutral pronoun and its systemic conflicts within the contemporary language system from multiple dimensions, including linguistics and sociology. The paper analyzes the semantic ambiguity of “TA” and the challenges it poses to natural language processing, reveals the interaction between linguistic variation and social ideology in the digital age, and further discusses the potential impacts and development trends of “TA” in social applications.
