Electrocoagulation and electrooxidation methods for wastewater based on a PV system, case study for small islands
Electrocoagulation and Electrooxidation are well known in order to improve the quality of the wastewater. All the present experiments were carried out in the laboratories of the School of Chemistry, Democritus University of Thrace. The necessary energy can cover with the help of Photovoltaic panels which designed and simulated with the use of a specialized energy software. As case study the presented method tested in 2 small Greek islands, Kimolos and Nisyros, which have extra needs in this field during the summer owing to the tourists. According to the simulation with RetScreen expert software 60 kW and 70 kW photovoltaic power plants cover the necessary energy.
