A Haematoma Causing Gastric Outflow Obstruction After Pancreaticoduodenectomy
Pancreaticoduodenectomy (Whipple's procedure) is a complex surgery associated with notable morbidity (30% to 60%), despite low mortality (5%) rates. This report presents a case of a patient who developed gastric outlet obstruction after a pancreaticoduodenectomy due to a haematoma caused by a gastrojejunostomy site bleeder. This case underscores the necessity of vigilant monitoring and timely endoscopic and surgical intervention to manage complications after a pancreaticoduodenectomy and enhance patient outcomes effectively.
