Increasing Employee Engagement Through the Role of Servant Leadership and Agility Leadership on State Civil Apparatus
This study examines the influence of servant leadership and agility leadership on employee engagement in the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) in the Ponorogo Regency Government. Strengthening the capacity and engagement of human resources is very important to realize dynamic governance and quality public services. This study uses explanatory quantitative research with a purposive sampling method and collects data from 200 ASN employees with more than ten years of service. The study's results indicate that servant leadership significantly and positively influences employee engagement. This study also confirms that enthusiasm is the most prominent element in employee engagement, which is supported by dedication and a sense of meaning. Statistical analysis using multiple regression shows that agile leadership substantially affects engagement more than servant leadership. These findings offer theoretical support for Goal Setting Theory, which emphasizes the role of leadership behavior in shaping employee motivation and engagement. This study suggests that enhancing adaptive leadership styles and fostering an emotionally supportive work environment are essential to optimizing ASN performance and realizing bureaucratic reform goals. This study contributes to the literature on public sector human resource management by demonstrating the mediating role of engagement in the relationship between leadership and performance.
