Analysis of coupled vibrations in low-medium speed high-temperature superconducting maglev train and curved bridge

This paper establishes a coupled simulation model for a medium-low speed high-temperature superconducting (HTS) maglev train and a curved bridge guideway beam (radius: 400 m). The model integrates a multi-rigid-body HTS maglev train system (20 DOF/vehicle, 60 DOF/trainset) and a 3D finite element bridge guideway beam. Based on mechanical relationships of the HTS maglev system, vehicle-guideway coupling equations were derived to characterize mutual interactions. The study examines track irregularities and superelevation effects on system dynamics through coupled analysis and frequency-domain evaluations. Results reveal: (1) Track excitations negligibly influence bridge structures but critically affect vehicle lateral/vertical accelerations, necessitating precise excitation selection for computational accuracy; (2) Superelevation variations modify guideway beam dynamics, while vehicle responses depend synergistically on speed and superelevation; (3) The HTS maglev train maintains stable operation below 80 km/h on curved bridges. Considering bridge vibrations and superelevation coupling mechanisms, a 60 km/h curve negotiation speed is recommended for optimal performance. This work provides theoretical support for dynamic parameter optimization in HTS maglev-guideway systems.

Abstract

This paper establishes a coupled simulation model for a medium-low speed high-temperature superconducting (HTS) maglev train and a curved bridge guideway beam (radius: 400 m). The model integrates a multi-rigid-body HTS maglev train system (20 DOF/vehicle, 60 DOF/trainset) and a 3D finite element bridge guideway beam. Based on mechanical relationships of the HTS maglev system, vehicle-guideway coupling equations were derived to characterize mutual interactions. The study examines track irregularities and superelevation effects on system dynamics through coupled analysis and frequency-domain evaluations. Results reveal: (1) Track excitations negligibly influence bridge structures but critically affect vehicle lateral/vertical accelerations, necessitating precise excitation selection for computational accuracy; (2) Superelevation variations modify guideway beam dynamics, while vehicle responses depend synergistically on speed and superelevation; (3) The HTS maglev train maintains stable operation below 80 km/h on curved bridges. Considering bridge vibrations and superelevation coupling mechanisms, a 60 km/h curve negotiation speed is recommended for optimal performance. This work provides theoretical support for dynamic parameter optimization in HTS maglev-guideway systems.
