Reflections on Rational Education Based on Newman’s “The Ideal of the University”

Today’s higher education is under the influence of pragmatism philosophical outlook, which leads to the lack of reason education, and university teaching is becoming more and more utilitarian and instrumentalised. In view of this serious situation, by exploring Newman’s definition of reason education, its importance and implementation measures, it has an important significance for today’s higher education.
