MELATONIN AND NEURODEGENERATION (ANALYTICAL LITERATURE REVIEW)
Connecon of the publicaon with planned research works. The work was carried out within the framework of the state budget topic The inuence of endogenous and exogenous factors on the course of the body's adap-ve reacons to physical exeron of various intensies (state registraon number 0121U108187).Introducon.Knowledge regarding the biological regulatory prop-eres of melatonin is increasing every year. The aim of this literature review is to show that the physiological role of melatonin is being intensively studied in our me.There are sll many quesons, the answers to which may be obtained in the near future.Melanin, as a food addive or as part of pharma-ceucals, is widely used to regulate circadian rhythms, improve sleep [1, 2], reduce oxidave stress [3,4], and correct immune reacons [5,6].But new data on the effect of this substance on various physiological processes give hope for the prevenon of premature age-related neurodegeneraon by melatonin, the correcon of con-dions caused by damage to neurons by reacve oxygen species and other harmful factors of oxidave stress [3,7].So now we hope to use informaon about the eects of melatonin on physiological processes to correct and restore people who have suered from sports or war injuries [6,8].The aim of the study. To summarize informaon regarding the physiological role of melatonin under normal condions and during the development of various pathological processes in the body, including neurodegeneraon.Object and research methods. The following methods were used in the literature review: searching for informaon in the scientometric databases PubMed, Google Scholar and others using the keywords: "melatonin", "neurodegeneraon", "oxidave
