MARKERS OF CALCIUM-PHOSPHORUS METABOLISM AS PROGNOSTIC FACTORS OF OBSTETRIC COMPLICATIONS
Connecon of the publicaon with planned research work. The study is performed like a part of a science program of department of obstetrics and gynecology 1 Bohomolets Naonal Medical University "Preservaon and restoraon of women's reproducve health in con-dions of rapid medical and social changes", state regis-traon number 0123U100920. Introducon.Physiological pregnancy is accompanied by numerous adapve changes in the endocrine, metabolic, immune, and cardiovascular systems of the mother, aimed at ensuring normal fetal development and maintaining maternal health [1].One of the key systemic adaptaons during gestaon involves alteraons in mineral metabolism, parcularly calcium-phosphorus homeostasis.Given the increasing demands for trace elements -especially calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, and vitamin D -maintaining the balance of these components is critical for the normal course of pregnancy and the preven-on of complicaons [2].Calcium plays not only a structural role in fetal bone development but also funcons as an essenal regulator of neuromuscular conducon, myometrial contrac-lity, blood coagulaon, cell signaling, and endothelial funcon.Vitamin D, acng through vitamin D receptors (VDR), regulates the transcripon of over 1,000 genes, many of which are involved in placental development, spiral artery remodeling, and maternal-fetal immune tolerance [3].A decreased level of 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] in pregnant women has been associated with preeclampsia, gestaonal diabetes, fetal growth re-stricon (FGR), bacterial vaginosis, premature rupture of membranes, and preterm birth [4].Phosphorus and magnesium, which act as calcium antagonists in certain processes, also play important roles in cell proliferaon, energy producon, nerve con-ducon, and the metabolism of proteins and nucleic
