High-Performance Coupled Line Ultra-Wideband Filter for Wireless Communication

In modern wireless communication, the demand for efficient filters is critical, especially for ultra-wideband (UWB) applications. This study introduces the architecture of an ultra-wideband (UWB) filter utilizing coupled lines, which functions within the 3.1 Gega-Hertz (GHz) to 10.6 Gega-Hertz (GHz) frequency spectrum. utilizing RT/Duroid 5880 substrate. The filter features a seven-stage coupled line configuration, achieving an equal-ripple response with a maximum attenuation of 0.1 dB. The design process combines analytical calculations and advanced simulations using Advanced Design System (ADS), resulting a loss of insertion of 0.7 dB (decibel) and a return loss exceeding 10dB, indicating excellent filtering characteristics. This UWB filter is particularly relevant for 5G communication systems, Wi-Fi networks, and radar applications, addressing the need for high data rates and minimal interference in congested spectral environments. Its compact design ensures reliable performance in demanding applications, including automotive radar systems for collision avoidance and medical imaging technologies requiring precise signal processing. This work contributes to the development of efficient filtering solutions essential for the next generation of communication systems, highlighting its potential in both commercial and critical applications.
