High Gain, Dual Band Patch Antenna with Partial AMC Ground Plane
This paper presents an innovative design and performance evaluation of a novel diagonally striped unit cell artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) backed antenna, operating at frequencies of 670 MHz and 806 MHz. The antenna features a meticulously engineered diagonally stripped unit cell AMC surface, designed to act as a perfect magnetic conductor at these frequencies. Through careful design optimization, the proposed antenna achieves impressive resonance at 670 MHz and 806 MHz, demonstrating gains of 3.2 dBi and 4.3 dBi, respectively. The radiation characteristics including radiation pattern, bandwidth, and impedance matching are thoroughly analyzed and validated through extensive simulation results. With its compact size, dual-band resonance capability, and significant gain, this antenna is ideally suited for various underground wireless communication applications. This research is committed to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Goals 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) and 15 (Life on Land). By enhancing AMC-backed antenna technology, we contribute to sustainable development and innovative solutions in low-frequency communication systems.
