Empowering Tomorrow’s Mobility: The Role of EVs in Sustainable Development
Sustainable development represents a commitment to a future where human activities are aligned with the health of the planet and the well-being of its inhabitants. It is a dynamic and evolving process that requires global cooperation, local action, and a shared vision for a better world. Electric vehicles (EVs) are increasingly recognized as pivotal in advancing sustainable development. This recognition stems from their potential to address several critical environmental and societal challenges, including reducing greenhouse gas emissions, minimizing air pollution, and promoting energy efficiency. This paper examines the relationship among sustainable development, renewable energy, air pollution and electric vehicles (EVs), and how these factors can all work together to slow down environmental deterioration and climate change. Assuring a better coming day requires sustainable development, which is characterized by continuous expansion that fulfils the now demands, and also offer a framework for protecting the environment, and advance prosperity for all. As they offer sustainable substitutes for fossil fuels, clean energy sources like solar, wind, hydro, tidal, and biomass energy are essential to reach Goal 7 i.e. affordable and clean energy. This study looks at how clean energy sources can mitigate climate change and have a positive impact on the environment by reducing pollutants in the air and water. It also covers many kinds of electric vehicles (EVs), their benefits over conventional combustion engine cars, and the possible environmental advantages of mass EV adoption. The study includes information on India’s EV sales from 2018 to 2023 and the possible carbon emissions that may be prevented while using Ev. The necessity of switching from fossil fuels to clean energy sources is emphasized in order to reduce air pollution, climate change, and guarantee a sustainable future.
