Advancing Assistive Technology for the Blind: A CNN and IoT-Based Approach for Real-Time Navigation

Vision Assist overcomes the inadequacies of traditional assistive technology designed for the blind, which lack general solutions and real-time flexibility. The shortfalls of the traditional systems range from a paucity of interactivity, to slow reaction, and limited usefulness. As a result, high rates of danger and accidents are reported, and additional help is always obtained. Vision Assist is a complete assistive solution, which enhances both autonomy and navigation through the merger of voice and IoT technologies. An adaptive user model lies behind the system, which is equipped with sensors, cameras, and CNNs for real-time object detection. The architecture is modular, and the speech response is immediate. SDG 3 - Good Health and Well-Being Describe how Vision Assist improves the quality of life and well-being of visually impaired persons by reducing accidents and allowing them to live more freely. The analysis, in turn, indicates distinctive improvements. In controlled settings, there is a 90% accuracy of object identification and 85% accuracy dynamically. The response time averages 150 ms, and user satisfaction is far above the existing technology. As a result, Vision Assist is a more efficient, intuitive, and useful assistive solution for the visually impaired.
