Performance of High-Power Wind Turbines Under Time-Variable Wind Speed Conditions
This paper analyzes the performance of high-power wind turbines (WT) under conditions of significant wind speed variations. Specifically, the study is based on experimental data collected from a 2.5 MW General Electric wind turbine located in Dobrogea, Romania. The novelty of this research consists in investigating the turbine's ability to operate at optimal rotational speeds to ensure maximum energy production at specific times when the wind speed has the same value. Using a mathematical model and experimental observations, this work provides insights into optimizing energy production and addressing the challenges associated with fluctuating wind conditions.
