Distribution of river pollutants through the urban area in Winongo river
The Winongo River is a river that passes through urban areas in Yogyakarta.Dense urban villages also line the riverbanks. Some communities along the riverbanks use the river for their clean water needs and as a place to dispose of their wastewater.Community activities in urban areas will certainly affect the quality of river water. The aim of this research is to determine the distribution of pollutants that occur in the Winongo River throughout urban areas. The river water quality parameters taken are pH, BOD, and DO.River water samples were taken using three location points, namely before, at and after the urban area.Analysis of pollutant distribution using the IDW method. The Winongo River water quality tested showed the lowest pH value of 6.7, the highest BOD value of 11.33 mg/l, and the lowest DO value of 1.83 mg/l.The distribution of pollutants shows that there is pollution from urban areas. The results of river water quality after passing through urban areas are that the pH becomes more acidic, the BOD increases and the DO decreases. From the results of the quality of pH, BOD and DO, the condition of the Winongo River is included in the Class III River Water group in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 32 of 2017 and Regulation of the Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta Number 20 of 2008
