PSYCHOLOGICAL AND PEDAGOGICAL DIFFICULTIES TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF A PROFESSIONAL’S FOREIGN-LANGUAGE COMMUNICATION COMPETENCE IN A DIGITAL ENVIRONMENT
The paper examines the issue of the emergence of psychological and pedagogical barriers as one of the negative factors affecting the developing of the foreign language communication competence of future and current professionals in the process of learning foreign languages in a digital environment, which makes learning more accessible, mobile, and functional, but its use carries a number of didactic risks. In addition, the article deals with the approaches to the classification of psychological and pedagogical barriers, and suggests an author’s version of their classification, considering the peculiarities of learning foreign languages in a digital environment. The authors see one of the options to produce educational digital content for developing the foreign language communication competence, taking into account students’ psychological characteristics and helping to overcome emerging barriers, in its design based on the Octalysis system (author — Yu-Kai Chou). The article provides an expanded and digitally adapted author’s version of this system, which enables the creation of conditions for overcoming hurdles and allows to more successfully personalize the process of learning foreign languages in higher and postgraduate education.
