Higher education policy: history and modernity
The present study is devoted to the educational policy of the Russian state during the formation and development of the education system. The higher education system that was built in the Soviet Union was a classical school of higher education. The approach to the higher education system in the USSR, the times of perestroika Russia and the modern Russian Federation is analyzed. During the time of perestroika Russia, a development vector was adopted related to the integration of the higher education system with Western countries. In modern Russia, the key direction of educational policy is the pursuit of self–sufficiency and the preservation of traditional values, which are the basis of Russia's historical development. Logical, historical and systematic methods were used in the research.
