Urban Near-surface Characterization Using Passive Fiber-optic Accelerometer Array Records: A Case Study
Summary In this study, we report a case study of the application of ambient noise recordings recorded by fiber accelerometer arrays for the detection of near-surface structures in cities. Based on the ambient seismic noise, we calculated the dispersion spectra of the surface wave using the three-station interferometry method. The dispersion spectra are related to the subsurface shear wave velocity profile. It proves the promise of fiber accelerometer arrays in the detection of urban shallow underground structures.
