THE ROLE OF SOFTWARE-AS-A-SERVICE SOLUTIONS IN ADVANCING SUSTAINABILITY IN SUPPLY CHAIN OPERATIONS
Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions represent a transformative paradigm in sustainable supply chain management, particularly within logistics operations. This article examines the role of cloud-based software services in advancing environmental, economic, and social sustainability. Through a comprehensive analysis of recent scientific literature (2020–2025), this study develops a conceptual framework for understanding how SaaS platforms enable sustainable logistics transformation. The research identifies five key mechanisms through which SaaS solutions contribute to sustainability: operational efficiency through shared infrastructure, real-time visibility enabling proactive environmental management, scalability supporting circular economy models, collaborative platforms facilitating sustainable supplier relationships, and pay-per-use models reducing resource waste.
