Integrated nursing practice of traditional Chinese and western medicine for a patient with posttraumatic stress disorder and comorbid neurogenic bladder
This paper reports the integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine nursing practice for a patient with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) comorbid with neurogenic bladder. Based on the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) framework and the biopsychosocial medical model, a multidisciplinary team (MDT)-driven integrated nursing pathway was established, with traditional Chinese medicine emotional regulation (e. g. , five-element music therapy) and Western behavioral training (e. g. , cognitive restructuring) as core interventions to achieve synergistic physiological-psychological-social functional improvement. By deeply integrating the holistic perspective of traditional Chinese medicine with evidence-based Western practices, the nursing challenges of PTSD-NB comorbidity were addressed.
