Effects of a 3-Week Bodyweight Exercise and Tai Chi Program on Senior fitness test and Plantar Pressure in the Elderly

This study investigated the effects of a 3-week bodyweight exercise and Tai Chi program on physical fitness and plantar pressure in elderly women aged 65 to 80 years. The aim was to provide foundational data for developing exercise programs to enhance fitness and prevent falls. Data were analyzed using SPSS 26.0, with mean (M) and standard deviation (SD) calculations. A two-way repeated measures ANOVA assessed interaction effects between groups and time points, followed by paired t-tests and independent t-tests for further analysis (p<.05).<br/> Results indicated significant improvements in physical fitness but no changes in plantar pressure. These findings suggest that short-term exercise programs can enhance physical fitness in elderly women but may not influence plantar pressure. This study provides valuable insights for designing effective exercise interventions to promote health and fall prevention in older adults.

The aim was to provide foundational data for developing exercise programs to enhance fitness and prevent falls. Data were analyzed using SPSS 26.0, with mean (M) and standard deviation (SD) calculations. These findings suggest that short-term exercise programs can enhance physical fitness in elderly women but may not influence plantar pressure. This study provides valuable insights for designing effective exercise interventions to promote health and fall prevention in older adults.
