The Performance and Impact of Remittances in The Albanian Economy

In this paper, the authors intend to analyze the role and the important impact that remittances have on the growth of the Albanian economy.Based on the theoretical point of view, there are papers carried out by various national and international authors who argue that the increase in remittances in a sustainable manner affects economic growth.In particular, remittances have a significant impact on the consumption and savings of individuals and various economic entities.Also, remittances play an important role in the potential attraction of Foreign Direct Investments, in increasing efficiency, and in the stability of the Financial System, etc.The paper carried out by the authors focuses on the recent trends of remittances made by immigrants in Albania and their connection with the daily life of Albanian families.In terms of processing and analyzing the data collected from January 2024 to the end of May 2024, the paper presents the trends related to remittances.The study uses descriptive and explanatory methods, along with qualitative techniques such as unstructured interviews with company representatives.The researchers in this paper have used primary statistical data provided by distributed questionnaires and secondary data provided by the Official Institutions of our country, such as the Central Bank of Albania, the Institute of Statistics in Albania and other institutions.Based on the results achieved after processing the data, the authors give their suggestions regarding the latest trends regarding Remittances in our country.
