Catalytic synthesis of bio-based carbamate by methoxycarbonylation of furfurylamine with dimethyl carbonate over Pb–Ni composite oxides

The Pb–Ni composite oxide efficiently catalyzed the methoxycarbonylation of furfurylamine with DMC to produce carbamate and isocyanate, demonstrating the feasibility of a one-pot cascade synthesis of isocyanates from amines and DMC.
