Proactive Conservation: Predicting Deforestation Risks Using Machine Learning and Satellite Imagery Analysis
A proactive conservation approach is proposed to predict areas at risk of deforestation by utilizing machine learning techniques and satellite imagery analysis. By analyzing historical deforestation rates in conjunction with environmental features such as temperature, land utilization, and other relevant data, this approach uses data mining techniques to identify high-risk zones and estimate forest loss. The system integrates advanced tools like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and OpenCV to enable early detection and proactive intervention, helping to mitigate the impact of deforestation. This scalable model can be applied to diverse ecosystems, offering continuous applicability and real-time alerts to policymakers for timely decision-making. By improving resource distribution and providing actionable insights, the system can enhance conservation efforts and support global species protection. The future work will involve extending the model to include additional datasets, integrating real-time data, and applying it to address other pressing environmental concerns, ultimately contributing to global conservation strategies.
