An adaptive-parameter-based master-slave suppression strategy for subsynchronous oscillations in wind power grid-connected systems

Subsynchronous oscillations in wind power grid-connected systems exhibit strong variability, with frequency drift posing challenges to traditional preset suppression methods, which significantly threaten the safe and stable operation of modern power systems. Therefore, an adaptive-parameter-based master-slave suppression strategy for subsynchronous oscillations in wind power grid-connected systems is proposed, enabling both adaptive parameter identification and oscillation suppression. First, subsynchronous oscillation characteristics are characterized using fast Fourier transform (FFT), which provides the theoretical foundation for adaptive parameter tuning and trigger signal generation. Next, an improved master-slave adaptive notch filter (MS-ANF) is proposed, extending its application to interharmonic suppression. Subsequently, the notch filter center frequency is adaptively adjusted based on frequency information extracted from subsynchronous oscillation characteristics, while the filter parameters are adaptively tuned using the characteristic root locus. Finally, the proposed suppression strategy’s effectiveness is validated through MATLAB/Simulink simulations. The results demonstrate that the proposed strategy is simple to implement, highly adaptable, and capable of achieving both adaptive parameter self-tuning and subsynchronous oscillation suppression, effectively addressing the issue of frequency drift in subsynchronous oscillations.
