The Control Technology Study of Doubly Fed Induction Generator Participation in Primary Frequency Regulation
A new frequency control strategy is presented, compatible with the original variable speed pitch-regulated (VSPR) strategy, which utilizes the response capability of DFIG to actively provide the primary reserve. For middle wind speed, based on researching the primary reserve and the frequency controller with additional $C_{p}$ and fitting $C_{p}-\lambda$ quadratic curve by Matlab, the demanded torque is calculated through dynamic regulation of $\mathrm{C}_{\mathrm{p}}$ and $\lambda$, and it overcomes the shortcomings such as low accuracy of conventional look-up table method; For high wind speed, full use of wind turbine capacity of active power, based on the old VSPR strategy, frequency control is realized by adding additional torque and its pitch decoupling ring corresponding to system frequency change, and shortcomings existing in the conventional method that needs to unload in advance have been overcome. Semi-physical experiments indicate its effectiveness in the power reserve control for frequency control. The research enriches the old technology about vspr and has reference value of engineering application.
