Arc-Shaped Planar Monopole Antenna for NextGeneration 5G Communication

In this work a single-input microstrip arc shaped patch antenna is introduced. This antenna is proposed on the base of FR-4 epoxy substrate with 1.6 mm thickness. The proposed antenna has dimensions of 17 mm × 10 mm × 1.6mm and provides a return loss of −44.82 dB, hence it is suitable for present day compact wireless communication devices. The device demonstrates efficient performance of 5G and wireless communication at a bandwidth range of 26 to 29 GHz and has gain of 5.3 dBi, taking advantage of FR-4 epoxy dielectric properties for improved signal transmission and reception capabilities. The designed antenna is simulated and optimized by commercial software Ansys HFSS. The antenna has been proposed by analyzing and simulating a few parameters like Reflection Coefficient/ Return Loss(S11), VSWR Parameter, Radiation Pattern, Surface Current, Gain Plot which leads to prove the designed antenna quality of producing flat radiation patterns and good return loss. The antenna, having its compact design with high performances, is well-suited for Internet of Things (IoT) applications, portable devices, wearable technologies, and smart sensing networks that affect the developments of communication systems.
