Dynamic Load Balancing in Cloud Networks Using Multi-Agent Systems: Ensuring High Availability and Efficiency

Dynamic load balancing is an essential research issue of cloud computing that impacts the system's performance, availability and resource consumption. This research focuses on integrating multi-agent systems (MAS) in efforts to improve dynamic load balancing mechanisms in cloud networks. A multiagent system is a set of flexible autonomous software entities that cooperate and collaborate to accomplish tasks; it is made for cloud topologies as it helps in the efficient distribution of workloads amongst the available cloud servers. Thus, the use of current data and prediction functions allow an agent to redistribute workload in real time, so that the server never gets overloaded, and response time is always minimal. Regarding the proposed architecture, the study lays down a hierarchical multiple agent system where strategic level agents are responsible for resource management and other agents for local workload management. Due to such a non-linear hierarchy design, workload fluctuations and fault can be handled quickly, and the system's high availability and continuity service can be achieved. Research findings also show that MAS-derived load balancing leads to low latency and efficient server resource usage resulting to improved cloud performance through conduct of comprehensive simulations and case studies. The findings suggest that the multi-agent frameworks could be applied to the contemporary cloud systems, which are marked by their increasing scale, as well as self-organizing properties. This research adds to the development of cloud construct through identifying areas for improvement in cloud infrastructure to achieve enhanced robust, efficient, and smart cloud networks that can accommodate the growing user needs.
